The heroine from Secrets of the Fog, Tera, is a dryad, a woman born from within the hollow of a redwood tree. I'm lucky, as a resident of the Bay Area, that I live near the Muir Woods. The giant beasts of trees are very inspiring. Secrets of the Fog is out Oct 29th, 2012. Check it out and get to know Tera!
I took this picture in the National Museum of Anthropology in Mexico City. In school, my area of emphasis as Maya Civ. Pictured is the Aztec Calendar stone. Not only was it a calendar, but it would overflow with crimson after sacficed bodies were cast down the stairs of temples onto it. In Secrets of the Jaguar (June 2013) our heroine Michelle is a were-jaguar and finds herself lying atop this very stone. Find out what happens June 2013!
Pictured is a grand Victorian home not far from where I live in Alameda, CA, a tiny island town in the San Francisco bay area. My Immortals in Alameda trilogy pays homage to the unique city. In Secrets of the Sky ( Feb 2013), my heroine lives with her family, a coven of wiccans, in this very home.
